Me again - with an embarrassing update on my ignition woes. The burnt up fuseable link that I posted earlier and was so proud of myself for finding was all damaged that I'd caused. Instead of me removing & replacing just the suspected faulty coil I elected to install an ignition sound suppressor (on a radio I don't even have hooked up). However, instead of installing a sound suppressor I installed a ignition condenser (see picture above) where this created a direct short on the coil / wiring. The condenser would cycle on and off causing the wires to become to hot to touch the cool down and repeat. I removed the condenser and repaired the harness, after several local trips the car runs great with no issues. I used to know what I was doing...

Hey, we all do something stupid every now and then.
Use it as a learning experience. At least you had the ***** to publicly admit it. Most don't. Good for you!

Well it's not as bad as it could be. I know a guy that bought a beautiful pace car, he took it for a drive and had a gas gauge that showed half full when it was empty.so he ran out of gas tops off etc. So they. Start pushing the car off the road using the A Piller to push against guess what? He instantly found out why you always check the birdcage! Oh and it rained, hard and the tops were not near fitting.
feel better yet?
