I got the diff out and opened it up. So far, no apparent problems - to me anyway. I talked to Gary and he was honest about his backlog, which is a few months at this point. He is very generous in sharing his vast knowledge about these things so, I am going to take this thing apart, check for cracks in the carrier and upgrade to all steel clutches and hopefully some better (17 spline) stub axles. At least. And put it back together. I need the 90 degree type snap ring pliers to go any further. To be continued.
