Default Pitman Arm

Does anyone know the difference in pitman arms for 1971 manual steering version versus power steering. There are two different part numbers if you go to buy one. The pictures and descriptions are enough to distinguish the difference - physically and by dimensions.

The tapered hole that the center link goes in is a different size

Rockauto has several idler arms listed. There all the same except for price. This is similar to the corvette only vendors.
Where did you find that there are two different arms?

My mistake, pitman arm vs idler arm.
the pitman arm is different for power steering vs manual steering.

Check this old post out. Should help you. Has the numbers and the differnece in picture form.. .The hosted pics are kinda gone but they still show the comparison .

Use the wrong one on power steering and you could get the wheel jerked out of your hand uncontrollably...

Thanks for all the posts. I solved my issue. I was asking the question for clearance reasons. I have installed Ridetech front and rear. On the front I had some clearance issue between the pitman arm and the back of the upper control arm. When I asked the question I thought maybe there was a pitman arm difference that would create space. Turns out there are other little 'things to do" that get you the clearance on this after market system.

I installed P/S on my 72 about 30 years ago. I had manual steering. I did not change out the Pitman arm that I recall as I sourced all the components from Carlisle swap meets. At the time I did not realize there were 2 different pitman arms. I have not had any issues. I am in the process of painting the frame and P/S, etc. and was wondering if I should get the correct arm. What issues would occur?
