Default 1981 AC help

I am brand new to the forum and would appreciate all help. I am converting to the 134 system and very close to finishing. I have one last electrical issue. I don’t have power to the cycling switch. Can someone please help with the electrical path to the switch?

Page 1B-3 shows a blue wire going to a computer control switch. Where is that located?

Refer to Page 8A-69 for a description of the circuit operation. Also the figure on page 8A-68 shows the compressor clutch powered by a pressure cycling switch, which should be a new switch in your new system.

Note that the idle speed solenoid is controlled by the same circuit. It's purpose is to bump up the idle (by about 50rpm) when the AC cycles on.

Thanks for that information. Where is the comp switch located? Does it have a fuse? I’m assuming it needs attention since I don’t have power at the cycling switch.

It's sown on one diagram but not the other. I'm only guessing, but it is probably a relay controlled by the dash controller. There are relays below the controller in the console, accessible by removing the masonite side panels on either side of the center console.

The side panels are held on by three screws shown here:

There is a Low Pressure switch located on the AC Filter (Large Silver Bullet Shaped Can) which controls the AC Compressor and the idle solenoid. Has a green wire connected via a plug into the low pressure cutoff switch. Have the exact setup on my 81. Here is a diagram in the this thread I opened back in 2016. It has the diagram showing the lt. green wire connectivity.

Thanks for all the information. I’ll get on that this week. I check and have 10.8 volts on the green wire to the pressure switch but nothing on the blue wire that goes to the comp switch in the book.
