Default 1970 Windshield Wiper Question

The wipers do not run in my 1970. At one point, they did, before the car had the body restored. The switch passes all the continuity tests. I can hear the relay click when I move the switch from off to low and to high. There is power going to the motor at the three bladed connector on the motor, and it got a bit hot as I was troubleshooting it. All the safety switches around the wiper door are missing and I have the door opened. Some general questions before I buy a new motor and that does not solve the problem:
1. The three-bladed connector is the only one connected to the motor. Should there be any other connections like a ground?
2. At off, low, and high, which wires should see voltage?

Thank you!

You have to have the door open switch connected or bypassed. It opens the ground path as well as the override under the dash. I agree with the post above. Do the willcox bench test with the motor still installed

It was the wiper arm linkages binding up. The motor was trying to turn and does all it is supposed to do once I unbolted the linkages. On to solve the new problem. But better than spending $200 on a new motor.

Good job. In the aim it says to spray the window with water when testing as well. May be related. I should have mentioned it earlier

Thanks for that, Willcox Corvette. In your diagrams, the wiper motor has a single wire running from the boxy body of the wiper motor. The functioning motor in my car does not have this wire, or even an empty hole where the wire should be. What does that wire do?

Thanks.

I'm going to guess it's the power feed from the limit switch. Is this the diagram you are talking about? If not post me the link so I can look at the what you are seeing.

In this picture there is a wire labeled B. I don't have one of those. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/c...a-wiper-motor/

If you don't have the F wire, then you have the wrong wiper motor.

That explains a lot.

Whoever owned the car before me seems to have scavenged repair parts from absolutely anywhere but a Corvette..
