454 flywheel?
Apparently the pressure plate isn't routinely balanced, but the guy who did my engine was adamant that the pressure plate be balanced along with the engine. My understanding is the pressure plate was neutral balanced, and the flywheel and balancer were balanced to the spec counterweight. Then they were mounted on the crank and the assembly was balanced. The logic was if I ever needed a new clutch or balancer only those components needed to be balanced.
With his help, I did the static balancing of the engine internals and recognizing I held those components within 1/2 gram, the amount of metal they removed from the pressure plate is more significant than anything I did on the pistons pins or rods.
