I would NOT recommend the Summit billet flywheel. It ran out .011. Even though it was never used, Summit would not take it back since I had it for a few years. Cost me an engine rebalance.
What are you doing with the car? Driving it, or 1/4 mile? What rpm you gonna be turning? Cuz basic cast iron 100 buck stuff is just fine for most uses.

The high torque is what most people like about the 454. The heavier flywheel will give more torque. I like being able to start out in first gear with the 454 NOM in my 68 convert with the engine idling. No need to rev it up, due to the monster torque.
Are you building your 454 to be internally or externally balanced?
If you build it internally balanced you will also need to replace the stock harmonic balancer.
McLeod Racing makes several nice flywheels in lightweight, Midweight billet steel and stock weight.

I have run a repair shop for 40+and always run Luk complete clutch kits since the mid 90's.
Well made and competitively priced. Everything you could possibly needs comes in the kit.
In 20 years I have never had to pull one back out for problems.
Just my experience, they are a lot of good and bad products out there.
Used to be a tool like truck that came directly to my shop and handed the kits off to me from free back when they first started and had service territories, but I order now from Rock Auto.
From What I have read about clutches im going with the mcleod super street pro clutch.
That is the one I used. I didn't run it yet so I have no opinion, but it is the one shown in the picture (below) that had 10 grams removed. I believe this is about 2 oz-ins. Also, I don't understand what they are advertising ie 550 hp. I believe clutches transmit torque so the 550 hp doesn't mean much without an RPM. My guess is the BBCs with many modifications, are probably at the clutches limit
