Default 1971 T-Top Chrome removal

Hello All,

I'm in the process of removing the chrome trim on my 71 coupe. I was able to remove the side pieces around the windshield but I'm having issues with the top corner pieces that the t-tops lock into. I've been able to remove all of the other pieces. I believe I've found all the screws. I don't want to break or bend these pieces. The windshield must have leaked at some point, because it looks like they used 10 tubes of silicon around the windshield. OK maybe not 10.

Also can anybody recommend a company that can refinish these pieces.

Thanks in advance.

Al

for memory i think i have read that there is a screw(s) along the front of the trim that's under or close to the edge of the glass.
so only accessible with the screen out, because if the screw nicks the edge of the glass, the screen will crack badly.

don't think they are able to be refinished as they are pot metal.
i have a new set i got from a vendor but haven't changed them out because of the screw problem.

the only way i have been able to remove these is with a impact hammer. if you have any rust in the frame you will just strip out the phillips head. unless you use impact hammer, if the head brakes you can get to the let over once trim is removed and remove with vise grip

Third picture will show the screw that has to be removed, but you have to remove the windshield to do it.
