Does anyone know of a source for the connector that the power and tach wire are attached to, that plugs into the GM HEI distributor. I'm getting ready to fire up my ZZ4 and I'd like to have a neat looking connector to my distributor.
Thanx

Me Too smokehouse! I 'm looking for a single connector that has two female terminals. I looked at those at performance distributor site ... they're simply single connector with one terminal each ... nuthin special. I have need for 3 or 4 of the dual-terminal connectors right now ... so if someone finds a source that comes in bags of say 10 or whatever ... i'd sure be willin' to spring for half. I've just sent off for a catalog from Newark Electronics ... maybe I'll find em there. Smokehouse ... please email me if you find a source. Thanks

Re: HEI distributor connector? (jackson)
Summit racing has the power connector in the catalog. look in electrical or around the distributors.
You can usually use a good spade terminal for the tach, unless you are going for the totally stock look.
I don't recommend the spade terminal idea for power as with the heavy wire they are prone to slipping off and you loose all power to the plugs (dead engine) and it could happen at the worst possible times. If you tach comes un-plugged -- oh well.
The problem with the single types is that they are MORE prone to arc between BAT & TACH terminals than the dual connector ... the dual connector has much more plastic "beef" in between. Trust me, they will arc ... or I wouldn't be lookin' for duals.
