I'm getting ready to start purchasing parts for the new interior for my 73 restomod.
I plan to keep the interior all OEM in appearance and will be replacing the door panels, leather seat covers, carpet, and some other items.
I have been looking at Al Knoch Interiors and I have been very happy with their customer service so far.
It appears they supply other Corvette vendors with their products and their representative told me everything is made at their Texas U.S.A. location.
Has anybody purchased Al Knoch products?
How was your experience working with them and how was the quality of their products?
Thanks in advance.
I bought door panels for my 79 from Al Knoch. I haven't tried to put them on the car yet so I don't know how they fit. They look a liitle different than the factory panels, but better looking in my opinion.
Al's stuff is the best.....IF you need to replace interior parts. Your BEST option is to repair and recolor the stock parts you have. Purchase only those which you cannot salvage.
If you are concerned about color match, just shoot the old and the new parts with the color of vinyl dye you prefer. Then it will all LOOK new and all parts will match.
If you want the best deal, take your list to one of the shows they are attending and do a 'package' deal.
I took my list for my '63 convertible with me (most items I'd already priced out on line) to Carlisle a few years back, fully expecting to spend well north of $3k. I spoke with Melanie at the show and she went over everything with me even pointed out a few items I had forgotten to include. When she was done and everything was added up, including the show discount... it was well under what I was expecting to spend.
As others have mentioned, the quality is excellent and they are terrific folks to deal with.

Thanks for the suggestion. I never thought to do that.

Good luck... GUSTO
Thanks.
I have been talking with Melanie and she is great.
She also offered me a package deal and discount over the phone once I get a list of everything I will need.
NCRS members get a 10% discount, but I don't think the NCRS guys will let me in their club with my restomod. LOL
I bought dash for the 81 from them. POS it was and sent it back. CA was far better, but still not oem.
I went on their reputation, but that particular piece was crap.

You need to take another look at NCRS. Their concours judging, as I understand it, is specifically for restomods.
I just went through this. Was going to have a custom interior done by a local high end upholsterer, but after conversations with him, I went with a full ecklers kit. Purchased every little piece to match the original color. His thoughts were that the Ecklers kits are so good now that it is tough to do it better unless you just can't live with a stock color and it certainly is not cheaper to do a custom kit.
I now have a garage full of boxes and I will tell you, they are all top quality and look very good.
BTW, If you are after a dark saddle kit, I have an extra brand new still in box dash pad and rear storage compartment frame. I ordered it extra by mistake...

Good information.
My oem interior was dark saddle, but the original owner dyed it all black about 20 years ago.
It still looks fantastic and I’ll be keeping the black.
Thanks for the offer and the info.
