I am having an issue with my driver's side power window.
When I roll it up as far as it can go it stops about 1.5 inches from the ttop seal and there is a grinding noise that come from the mechanism. I figure there is a toothed gear somewhere that is supposed to have a physical stop, but doesn't so the motor keeps spinning.
When I lower the window after I have tried opening it all the way, sometimes I have to push the window down for it to "catch" and go down. Once all the way down the window stops as it should.
I will try to attach a video, but if that doesn't work here is the Youtube link: https://youtu.be/01gSiM6BkF8
Yes, could be either the teeth on the regulator or on the window gear itself. I actually had a motor come loose, two bolts were loose and the third was completely out. It would go up and down some but would not go all the way down. That is when the motor is under the most spring tension and it forced my motor away from the regulator. They make new motor gears and either an add on replacement gear for the regulator or the entire regulator that you can replace. Be careful taking the motor loose from the regulator as it is under tension. There is a hole that you can put a bolt in to lock the regulator into a safe position. You will have to secure the regulator to remove and install the motor safely.
