Default knee bone connected to the thigh bone

seems Reluctor & Pickup must be properly located in relation/phase with one another and in relationship with Rotor Tip and that in phase with Cap Terminals ... within entire range of both Mech & Vac Advances.

OTOH, years ago ... wish I'd known the msd reluctor is merely a dismounted duraspark ... replaced a pair in a dual-pickup msd ... big hurry ahead of daytona busch opener ... red label air ... could've just gotten ford pickups from local parts house. Oh well, entire endeavor was a keystone cops cluster anyway.

I could do this for $100 or so, it's functionally the same, and the HEI module is an improvement over the original TI system, and more reliable than any other module on the market.
A pertronix is the only other candidate I would consider, and then I could add a rev limiter. But I read enough breakdown stories I would feel obligated to carry a spare..
The bodies of tach drives are the same. Repop coils are out there, and actually better. All you need is the reluctor. I need to look. I know Howard has one for a few hundred $$$NOS.
Maybe latter this summer.

Keep me updated on what you find. I'm presently trying to finish an aluminum weight reduction project, but I'm interested in getting back to playing with some distributor tweaks afterwards.

Will do. Just need to finish up garage, and have this pandemic out of the way. Everything is crawling.

I had previously found both the TI parts on TI Specialty site, the magnetic pickup and the reluctor, but they ran $600 just for those two pieces! Both probably repops I guess.

https://www.tispecialty.com/distributors.htm

One or $200 for a HEI knock-off seemed much more reasonable. I just bought a $12 HEI disributor on e-bay todissasemble and see how it's set-up. The HEI magnet/reluctor assy looks a lot like a TI and might be adaptable to a C3 tach-drive. Keep you posted!
