Hello, hope everyone is healthy and safe. I redid all my brakes on my 71 BB. The problem is my bleeders are weeping. Has anybody else have this problem. Thank you for your help.
There could be corrosion or 'gunk' on the seat for that bleeder, preventing it from completely sealing off. If a bleeder seat gets badly corroded, it would be best to get the correct tool to refinish the seat. Basically, it is an 'end cutter' with the seat angle ground onto it. It pilots in the threaded hole and re-faces the seat. Also clean up the bleeder mating surface...or better yet, install new bleeders.
all great advice.. my learnings on one were use the soft metal bleeder screws as they seat better (no stainless ).. buy new ones several.. take a new one and see where it seats... or not...torques only to inches in manual..
as previously stated I used a stone on a bad one.. but for all of them to leak?? did you buy new stainless ones?
Hi, Thank You for your reply, hope all is healthy and safe. No I didn’t have S.S bleeders, calipers are new rebuilt that came withe the bleeder. I will sending the caliper back for another caliper. I have not had any luck with delco rebuilt calipers.
Torque wrench on a bleeder screw? Never tried that. How many inch pounds is a "snug" with a box-end?
Anyway, some years back I bought new bleeder screws from a local car parts store that will remain unnamed, and every bleeder was somewhat loose in every caliper.
Went to another brand store, bought 6 more. Fit better. For some reason some bleeders do not have close tolerances.
Which is no shock for overseas parts.

That would be a pinky thrust on a wrench..
i have the tool so i used it and wanted to get the feel ..
i agree before i tear out calipers to return i would try a few non ss bleeders..USA

I tried steel and S.S bleeders they also leaked. I even tried the bleeders that came off my old caliper and that leaked as well. I inspected the seat on the caliper and it wasn’t machined correctly it had 2 high spots on the seat.
