i have an 79 corvette . When i accelerate, the car shifts with part throttle fast in to the last gear. i want to stay longer in the gears. is it possible to solve this with an adjustable modulator for the th350 and would it take more wear for the trans?

possibly , but more than likely it’s a stuck Governor than a bad Modulator
is this a new problem or old problem ?
Is the kick down hooked up and working ?
How does it act full throttle ? Normal or still shift early?
The only 'testing' specs for the stock transmission are shift points at low throttle and at wide-open throttle. Everything in-between those points is relatively linear.
If your unit tests O.K. per those specs in the Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual (back of the manual under Transmission specs), then you will have to live with what you have or just keep the transmission in a lower gear and shift up when you choose. Screwing with the governor and/or modulator will mess up ALL the shift points, as those devices have affect throughout all ranges.
