Default LT-1 1971 - Cluth advice

Hi guys,

I need some help to find the correct clutch disc to replace mine.
I have a 1971 LT-1 with it's original transmission and bell housing.
I'm looking for something strong, like heavy duty as many of you know that the LT-1 as less torque in low rpm and so, need a bit more rpm to take off.

If you have any good idea I'll appreciate.
Thank you !

Thank you for those links (they send me to the same thread tough...)
I have the same issue, reverse grinds...

I'll have a look at the Mc Leod Super street pro.
Do all the SB 350 including the LT-1 have the dimensions 11" x 1-1/8 ?

I replaced my stock L-82 GM 4 speed clutch when i rebuilt my L-82 355 with lots more HP with a RAM HDX, 5 years ago. It has stock clutch pedal feel with 30% more clamping force, good for 450 Gross HP, which is just about where my engines power is after the upgrade. 5 years on and I have zero compliants....works like a charm.

Description

The Ram Clutches OEM Replacement Clutch sets are perfect for those unmodified street or restoration car projects you have going on for your C3 1968-1982 Corvette. Features an OEM diaphragm or level style pressure plate, clutch disc, and throwout bearing for proper fit and operation of your vehicle instead of a low quality or imported replacement imitation part. You can choose from multiple add-on options like adding on the steel alignment tool, a steel / aluminum flywheel, a hydraulic release bearing, the flywheel bolt set, a pilot bushing, and the pressure plate bolt set.

Comes with 30% more clamp pressure than stock clutch performance to help manage high horsepower or load more efficiently on top of premium organic composite disc friction material for a smooth chatter free operation. The HDX series also features the exclusive 8-spring hub assembly for load capacity resulting in great driveability and control for vehicles with up to 450 horsepower levels.

Notes: P65 warning for residents in the state of California. The flywheel must be resurfaced or replaced prior to installation to validate the warranty. Due to the weight and/or dimensions of this item, additional freight charges will be applied at checkout.

Includes:
  • Pressure plate
  • Clutch disc
  • Throwout bearing
  • Diaphragm sizes: 11 x 1 1/8-10 or 11 x 1 1/8-26 or 10.5 x 1 1/8-10 or 10.5 x 1 1/8-26

Features:
  • 30% more clamp pressure than stock
