Definitely not 35 lbs. Check your info. Your car may have taken around 3 lbs of R12. A little less if using R134a. I am a little confused about your gage readings. I am sure those cans are designed to hook up to the low side connection because the high side pressure would peg that gage. With that being said you are basically taking a shot in the dark. Low side pressure indication alone is not adequate to determine if the system is charged correctly.
Stop..
empty, pull vacuum...start over..
you either buy or borrow rent gauges and pump.
not enough details when you say charged system from what state, why..
if it was me i would flush system check orifice, change accumulater, add proper oil...vacuum, charge..
I’ll check O’Reilly’s tomorrow and see what they got. Thanks.
good luck...
if you are a diy the pump and gauges will be useful on virtually any modern car as a tool investment.
all tools , walmart freon is best value, an accumulator, oil, and new orifice...less than 300 bucks..
accumulator is a pita though, access from under
At this point I think I will pursue professional help. Still can’t fix the fan speed issue either.
I recommend this because this system needs flushed, a vacuum pulled to eliminate moisture and test for leaks, a new drier installed, a proper set of manifold gauges are needed to administer refrigerant and to diagnose any malfunctioning components. You will be much better off in the long run.
I replaced the Blower fan relay and now I get all the speeds. Also the compressor clutch kicks on and off constantly. When engaged the Low end pressure drops to 25 psi when disengaged the pressure jumps to to 45 psi When off the pressure is about 90 psi.
Walmart or O’Reillys did not have any AC equipment.

you need to know high pressure too for possible restriction....the cut off is 24 psi i think...so either low on freon or a restriction
