I’m not sure. I have owned the car about a month now and am not familiar with the specifics of what has been done to it before me. Definitely puzzling! The A/C works fine and definitely appreciated with our Texas heat.

Yep, if those relays were bipassed and the AC works fine with the idle. Enjoy.

Ted, concerning your humming noise, which relay on your car has the ground wire lug under the relay mounting screw?
Mine is mounted on the right relay and ajchance's is mounted on the left relay.
I was looking at the drawings (fig. 41) and it shows the ground lug under the left relay mounting screw.
