Default just bought this 71

Man Im so happy with this 71 I bought today.
I posted on here a lot about the 77 I worked on obsessivly including auto to manual swap, efi, electric headlights, rear end, bushings ....
I sold it , saved cash and got my dream car today.
This 4spd 71 vert has a zz4 engine so not the matching numbers I was looking for but its running great. I drove it home in heat and traffic no over heating no bad smells.
It is an odd build with no p/s no power brakes no a/c.
I might leave it be or maybe retro mod. For now im driving.

The wiper door is stuck open I havent even looked into it. Im mostly glad the wiper door didnt fly off on the way home. Paint on this car is perfect Im going to look up how the mechanism works before messing with it.

Very sweet. The nice thing about NOM cars is that you don't have to be so particular with them. Just do what makes sense.

I cant decide if I should do more retro mod stuff. Its in the not numbers matching but not thuroughly retromodded state now. Should I go further FI, boresnson steering, hydro boost or just leave it.
The fi seems likely to happen since I have a holley sniper and matching distributor from my previous c3 just sitting in a milk crate in my garage.
Im surprised how well the non power brakes seem to work.

Yup. Those are the kind of thoughts you can shamelessly entertain with an NOM car, and you have a perfect example. Fuel Injection is definitely an upgrade in the driveability department, but if it starts and runs well now, is there really any motivation to change? Ponder it for a while as you drive it. This could just be my own opinion, but a set of Rally Wheels would really be nice on that car. Love the Steel Cities Gray.

That is an odd build. Someone ordered deluxe interior and a right side mirror but didn't get a/c, power brakes, or power steering. Good luck with the car. I have had mine since 1980. It is already better than it ever was in many respects but I still have body work and paint to do to say it is better in every way. It's just money.

Right hand mirror was not a factory option. That has been installed sometime along the way.

Looks like Steel Cities Gray to me. Very nice ride! Check to see if the wiper door override switch has been left in the ON position (black **** on bottom of driver's dash under the steering wheel). With engine running, just turn the **** in the opposite direction to see if the door closes.

Correct. Either Dealer installed or PO added.

If the wipers don’t park completely, the door can get stuck on the passenger side wiper. Had the same problem.
