Default Fuel regulator mounting

Does the regulator have to be securely bolted down? I was thinking of fitting it between the line from the pump and where it meets the lines going to the carb. I don’t have anywhere in that spot where I can bolt it down, that I can see.

just wondering if I can just screw in line or is that a big no no?

Not totally clear on what pump your running. And for that matter, what Carb. If your running a stock or stock replacement mechanical pump on the block. Why would you even need a regulator? If your running a electric pump in the tank? Or inline under the tank? Perhaps a little more information.

Yes, bolt it down. I installed mine on the right inner fender and set the pressure to 6 psi. I have a Holley mechanical pump and run braided fuel hose and AN-6 fittings with an inline filter.

it’s a Holley big end 80GPH mechanical fuel pump on the block. I have a line going from the pump to a filter and then to the Holley ultra street avenger carb. I bought the regulator and gauge last year but never installed it.
