Default Connection question - 1980

For the dumb question of the day, there's a buzzer module plugged into the fuse box on my '80.

module plugged in

While looking for a good lead to put power to a TCU I'm installing for a 4L60E tranny, I pulled it out the other day and later put it back in. Today I pulled it again but noticed that the small 2 position connector at the bottom is only connected to one of the 2 contacts. I don't recall unmating and remating that connector the other day, but I can't say for certain that I didn't. Here's a closer look at that connector with module unplugged.

Per the manual's circuit diagram the orange wire is hot a all times and the green runs down to the ignition switch alarm to buzz whenever the key is in and the switch is off, lock, or in accessory and the door is open.

circuit per 80 shop manual

I guess the simple answer is that obviously both positions should be connected. However, I've found errors in the manual before where circuit diagrams were not updated. And it wouldn't surprise me if at some point GM changed the wiring but didn't want to invest in new wiring harnesses and some genius figured the connector, even though positionally keyed by one of the contacts, could be shifted one position leaving the ignition alarm still functional.

OK, that's a lot of hand waving and I give it 0.1% likelihood of being the case and 99.9% that I last week, some GM assembly line worker 40 years ago, or some mechanic between those 2 times, misconnected it. Nevertheless, before I connect it with both positions mated, if anyone has an 80-82 and doesn't mind sticking their head under the dash to look and confirm this, I would appreciate it.

Seat buzzer. Not needed. Put it in a box with the emissions garbage.

Plugged it in. Turned the key. Buzzer activated. Nothing caught on fire.
