Default '77 Leaf Spring Questions

Can someone tell me what the stock 9 leaf spring is rated at on a '77? I'd also like to know what color the leafs would have been originally.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Adam

When I bought my 77 in 89. Gymkhana suspension so different number of leaves. Still. The color was light rust. Also, pull it and put in a decent 330 lb. Glass spring and be done with it. Sorry, just my Honest opinion.

NCRS judging manual says the color was 'light gray primer'.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen posts where the earlier years were gray with a slight greenish tint to it, but wasn't sure if that was the case for a '77. Now if I can find out what the '77 9 leaf spring was rated at.

Thanks again,
Adam

I see ref to 196# for 9-leaf at a couple of different vintage spring suppliers.

I'm seeing similar, but with so many options and misinformation on the web, I wasn't sure what to believe. Looking on the Eaton website, they offer one that shows a 196# and an article I found on the Duntov motors site also states that "most" C2 and C3 Corvettes came with a 196# spring.

Thanks again for the help - much appreciated.
