hello .can i put 255/60/15 on all 4 corners of my 82 with the standard alloys . it will be lowered by around 1.5" looking at buying the cooper cobra tyres . cheers kev

Yes. The wheel opening is still the same. Over the years I've been in 3 different Corvette clubs in 2 country's. Known a lot of 80-82 corvette owners running 255/60-15's

Not sure about the '82 but putting 255-60/15 tires on a '79 requires cutting the wheel wells. They were available as an option from the factory, but when they were installed the wheel wells were relieved at the back on the assembly line to make room for the tires. Its not a huge cut, but it is required to keep the tires from hitting the body when turning. I did the modification on my '79 when I installed the 255's, according to the specifications in the factory assembly manual.

I don’t think you’ll have a problem on the back. Not sure about the 245’s on the front. It’s a relatively minor trim to the wheel well at the back on the inside if it’s required.
