I have searched and cannot find out about a new camshaft I have had for a long time with 975539 stamped on one end.
1579 is stamped b/t gear and lobe, with CWC opposite that number.
D6 stamped b/t last journal and gear.
117 or 11T b/t 1st and 2nd lobe, 25 opposite.
No other stampings.
Can anyone identify this cam please?

An unidentifiable cam has little to no value. You can buy a brand new CompCams Xtreme Energy cam with known specs for $125. If what you have is a standard hydraulic flat tappet cam, and if you know the specs, it has a value of about $70. Chump change. Ditch the unknown cam and just buy something with known specs - you'll waste more time than what the cam is worth just figuring out that it's not what you want anyway. Unless it's some nice billet steel roller cam, get rid of it and just buy a cam: I was cleaning out my parts shed the other day and found 2 brand new cams wrapped in bubble-wrap. No original boxes, and no cam cards. No identifiable markings, and I couldn't remember where I got them from. They went directly into the trash can.

Yes, I have looked at the 6 digit cams starting with 97, but have found nothing. As for value...I agree...but this is not about money...more so about solving a puzzle. Then again it might be something interesting..
More than 1 way to solve a puzzle but if you had the time and tools you could measure the cam: Lift, Duration, Lobe Centerlines, Intake Centerline. Not sure if that would entertain you enough? Need a block with a piston, rod, crank and timing set, push rod, lifter, large degree wheel and a the micrometer with base. Well worth the time if just to learn something.
