Hi all, I'm trying to put my transmission bracket back on my 76. The holes are not aligning with the holes on the transmission mount. The mount, transmission and bracket are all original. Seems my transmission has shifted a bit (somehow) towards the driver side. Not sure why because the engine motor mounts or nothing else were removed at all. However, the main driveshaft, exhaust and crossmember were all removed and have been reinstalled. Anyone have any suggestions on how to shift it back to get the bracket holes to align with the mount holes? Thanks.
How far is the misalignment?
Could be as simple as loosening the engine mounts and moving things around.
An old or warn engine mount could have pulled the trans over when you removed the trans mounting bolt from the crossmember.
