I've never had to replace the passenger side. Don't see any problem with removing them while you have time and inserting a block of wood to support the engine until you have replacements. Sounds like a good idea. When I replaced mine, I added a cable anchoring the driver side of the engine to the frame as added insurance against breaking another one. I suppose its a function of why they broke. If they broke because you're putting out 500 HP then consider a cable. If they're just old, don't worry about it.

thanks...well im glad passenger side out..im gonna let it hang and pit a 3/4 piece of oak in in case pressure drops..i lowered it a little..
tip one..align fan so blade is not at top dead center..
had to lift a fair amount and it comes out from top...which means drivers side will be a treat..
i used wood and quickjack rubber on damper to raise engine..illassume it wont hurt anything..
long bolt amazingly had no tension on either side..
i wanted to get one off as ihave todrive a ways to get mounts in am and wanted to make sure identical..not a lot locally

Heh i didnt know there were guides for plug wires..i got one in when i ran it..

Rubber on damper to raise engine..maybe 2 inches..

I assume this is not supposed to do that?

Of course the driver side is a complete PITA.
the power steering pump needs to be removed from engine so the bracket which shares the same hole as the front top mount needs to pull back to get mount to slide up.
also had to remove plug wire cover for same reason where passenger side kinda bends out of way..
btw disconnect neg battery!
also need to loosen alternator belt to get to power steering bolts..
im hoping they are broke right? They look like they seperated same place..hoping this is my hard throttle whoosh sound from stop..wont whoosh sound from moving start or full throttle from other gears..

no 500 hp here but i blame @lars timing papers for breaking my mounts..

Access to bolts tight but flex socket broke them loose..not looking froward to starting the though

The infamous power steering support bracket sharing same bolt..wont slide up without backing it off

There are two bolts holding pump..i missed the lower one..had to totally remove to move pump..loosening didnt cut it

Driver top..broke right?

Yes they are totally toast! I've replaced my drivers side 3 times. Last time I did all 3. (Both motors and trans mount). Really didn't think it was at all difficult.

My drivers side mount died couple years ago. went to my local autoparts store and they had a black poly mount on the shelf for $30something. I notice no additional vibration from the poly

Looks like I got one made in the USA and one unknown and I have no idea what box it came in when I opened it and there are no markings on the mounts they do look similar the bolt holes seem to line up there are two different bolt head sizes though interesting if I can figure out which ones USA I put that on the driver side one might say 0MC on it.
ill reuse the oem bolt

i'm the wrong person to ask. Other than head or rod bolts, everything else for me is "wrist tight", "elbow tight", or "shoulder tight".

Well im stuck...taking a break..
got power steering on and the bracket etc drivers side...for me not easy getting bolts started on bracket...tghtened all 3 , wire protector..lower mount bolt slipped right in and sits loose with room to spare..
finally got passenger side on , struggling to tighten the top bolt to final tightness but a problem...
cannot get bolt to line up..
tried pounding down on the bracket from the top of the engine with a wooden stick and a hammer I tried jacking it up again and letting it drop down fast I tried grabbing the motor trying to move it down nothing the brackets appear to be the correct size everything seems to be good I can’t get that last on one side half inch on the other side pretty close do I stand on the engine?
drivers side remains perfectly lined up and loose.. the fan is scraping so i know it has to go lower..its not hung up on bracket there is 1/4 on each side...
thoughts?

Needs to drop

Drivers perfect..bolt loose

6 hours on this job..im sure others can do in hour
had to loosen the passenger side and retry after trimming..no go..3 x up down jack finally with loosened bolts on motor passenger side to get main bolt in...bolt took me 45 minutes to tighten one bolt upper front motor because even after trimming the rubber squishes and cant get socket on very tight around ..finally lifted with bolt in got it tight...hooray!
go to put bolt in drivers side which always fit..no go...crap..
tight with power steering so i could bring it close with pointed chisel but would spring back..used vice grips and finally drove it home..

i do think the whooshing sound hopefully was fan but that may be from prior..will see...clean up and test drive..
Will update..
what seems like a straightforward job..kinda sucks..
more learnings...
trim the rubber around bolt holes...
26 bucks at napa but if i planned i would go USA vendor to be sure..one was USA..the other? No clue..
maybe do plug wires when doing mounts if due..thete is actually a holder under mount no way to run wire into both unless really lucky..mine are fairly new..
taking stuff off is easy..lining up crap and power steering not so freindly..
thanks for help..

Squeeze the metal backer..dont pry freeze plugs close by

Old or my whoosh sound

Upper right..who knows how long mount broke
