Hello.
I just removed my rear & front bumper on my 70. Planning to have them re-chromed while I wait for my car to get re-painted this winter.
I hear LIbrandi's in PA is great. I'm planning on doing the front bumper, guards, passenger side grill, rear bumpers, exhaust bezels and license plate bezel? Any cost estimates, experience shared would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
John
I emailed a place in Memphis, they gave a ball park figure that was close to the value of my Home. There aren’t many folks doing chrome work and the cost will be high. Needless to say, my 73 looks good with the original scratch chrome bumpers. Also, I have read that the import bumpers are problematic and have fitment issues.
I can't comment on price but I can on Librandi's quality. An friend who is extremely particular about his restorations had his bumpers on his 62 done by Librandi's. He picked up the completed bumpers at Corvettes a Carlisle and brought them back to the hotel room, unwrapped every peice on the bed for all of us to examine with a fine tooth comb. We all agreed that their work was top notch.
A friend of mine had his aluminum wheels polished and chrome plated at Paul's Chrome Plating in Evans City, PA. The wheels were so smooth and beautifully done, they looked almost liquid. I highly recommend this place!
