Default 1970 Headlights not burning

I'm a new member - thanks for the add!
I live in Georgia and just bought my second Corvette in late September. I purchased this '70 Corvette over the internet from NY State This one is a '70 Corvette 350, 4-speed.
Need a little help... when I bought it the headlights worked but one would occasionally flicker like maybe a bad ground. My dash and instrument lights did not.work at all so I replaced the original headlight switch last week, convinced that was the problem. It did correct the problem with my dash/instrument lights and they work but now neither of my headlights will burn at all. I then replaced the floor dimmer switch thinking that could be the problem (since it was also the original switch) but that didn't solve the headlight issue. All exterior lights and blinkers work, except for the headlights.
Any suggestions? Guess I can pull one of the bulbs and test the socket for voltage with test light but thought I would see if anyone had any ideas first...
Thanks in advance!

with your test light. check for voltage to the dimmer switch. then check for voltage out of the dimmer switch, should move from wire to wire as you click switch. if you have power to the dimmer switch. and then out, start following the wire's. connection at firewall, etc. if you don't have power to the dimmer, back up to the headlight switch.

Thanks so much guys. I didn't have any voltage at the new dimmer switch so I pulled the dash back to check the connector on the new headlight switch I had just installed. Somehow the wire connector pulled out of the headlight switch when I was buttoning everything back up causing a loose connection. I plugged it back in firmly and I now have headlights.
Your valuable information helped me a LOT and saved me a lot of time and I am very thankful for your help.
Thanks again!
