Reset the timing to 14* and total @ 41* I changed accel pump rod to bottom hole and reset a/f mix and it runs like I had expected hoped from the start. Now after my fill up I will see if my mileage improves. I wish I had all the money I pissed away because of the Mantra of the day. I am sure I am not alone lol

If that 14* at idle and 41* max are with the vacuum advance still connected, you still have more 'left in the tank'. 34* max without the vacuum advance would be ideal (for most Chevy street engines).

And, if by chance, the 41* is without the vacuum advance (can't imagine it, actually), you need to back the timing down.

basically, recurve your distributor to get 16 - 18 degrees at idle. 35 - 36 all up with vacuum unhooked. and all in around 3 thousand. then check your vacuum advance can to see if it matches up to your vacuum. replace nessesary.

With vac adv. disconnected I hit the numbers of 16* at idle /700rpm and 34* @3k rpm. I finally think I can outrun my Escape...lol thanks for all the help
