Nothing wrong with DOT3 for street use. Been successful for decades. Any haunting issues with DOT3 are from lack of flushing, which should be done every so many yrs anyway.
People neglect it and expect it to perform flawlessly for a decade.
Your Motive Bleeder needs a custom made lid to fit those old GM dual masters. I made one for less than $25. Its clear so I can see what's going on inside the MC.

Lexan? Where did you by the piece from? Don't mind fabricating at all.
I throw 4 old tee shirts on the floor and open the bleeders. After I get flow I shut off the bleeder and check the fluid level.
Check your petal and you should be good.

Funny you asked. I started the MC lid project with quarter inch plexiglass. This was cut to size / shape at a glass dealer for home windows. After clamping the plexiglass down on the MC I watched a small crack grow across until it shattered. Back to the glass place. What else you got? Lexan, said the dealer. He called it bullet proof.
Not fun to drill for the fittings, but do-able.
So in answer to your question. Look in your yellow pages for places that deal with window glass replacement, residential / commercial.

OK,
installed the speed bleeders (Russell's brand) yesterday and gave each caliper about 20 pumps and instantly got a really hard brake (manual brakes on the 69) Took it for a ride and WOW, Hugh difference. Car now stops on a dime. Cant believe I was fighting it so long and now its cured. I am sold on these things.
After each winter hibernation, I am going to remove the wheels and pump in fresh fluid since it is SO easy to do now.
Never-never-never say you have perfect C3 brakes. You will jinx yourself.
Ya I know but I just took the car out and the brakes are spot on. Matter of fact, the car is running awesome.. not bad for not being driven for 15 years.

Ya if the speed bleeders didn't work, I was going to make that Lucite cover for my Motive

Since the car wasn't running and key was off, I never saw it come on.

Not talking a complete flush. Just talking about the fluid that was sitting in the Calipers. Its so easy and with a lift and a jack thats incorporated in my lift, its easy peezy..
Thanks for all your help.
I have the Russell bleeders on my 79. They work ok, but I still found that I had a hard time getting a decent pedal until I got the Motive bleeder. It's still not 100% where I'd like it, but it's about 90% and no leaks so I'm leaving it alone until I get ready to just upgrade the whole system.
As for the Motive MC adapter, I use a block of 2x4 on top of the adapter and a pair of big C-clamps to hold it down, and it works fine. I never got the chain/hook setup it comes with to work.

I have no idea what brand but got them from Summit or Willcox 10 years ago and they have worked perfectly. Just loosen them a bit and pump away then when no bubbles tighten up.
Have always worked from closest to furthest on each circuit with no issues.
