I’m having to replace my neutral safety switch on my 71 automatic. The screws were hard to get to and probably harder to put back in. Any tips on installing them also any other helpful info on adjustment etc?

The area around the shifter is sunk in.
The problem is getting the back screw out. I had to take the front one out the pivot it around to get the back one out. I know that won’t be an option when tightening the back screw.
If you don't have a set of deep offset boxed end wrenches, even a cheap set is handy for lots of places.
Loose or remove the 4 bolts that hold the shifter in and it'll let you tip it to the side to get at that last screw
