Haven't seen one in that colour since. Took me another 11 years to buy my first Corvette.

Love the dark blue 79's. There's one local to me that is still with its original owner. Here's my L-82 4 speed.

If I could have chosen the color of my 79, it would have been yours! That said, I do love my color combo too.

I just kept thinking, why didn't I buy the 4 speed model? The answer was that my 61 was a 4 speed and the transmission needed a rebuild and the trophy wife wanted to drive a vette to get her nails done. Had to kick her to the curb so I could put a 5 speed in lol
You had a trophy wife? You never told us that. I’ve regretted ordering my ‘79 with auto, but the auto L-82 was the quickest Vette that year. I contemplated putting a five speed in back in the day, but like G Cool said, a pita! So instead in 86 I installed a 700R4 four speed auto. The best mod to my car ever. I have a six speed 427 C6, and I actually enjoy my 79 with 4 speed auto more.
when I placed my order for my 79, the sales man told me, “you don’t want yellow, we sell fewer yellow than any other color”. That sealed it for me.
