Has anyone ordered one yet? I thought Jebby was getting one to ship off to Lars for review.

I am.....between Covid and Snowpocolypse here, funds have been dispersed elsewhere......hang tight....
I am going to order it today...since there is interest. I will have it sent here and bolt it on the Camaro and see how it is first. Then send it to Lars.

Is there a 'link' for the China qjet'?

I don't believe it... alibaba.com: https://www.alibaba.com/countrysearc...arburetor.html

The Chinese will copy and build anything there is a demand for. When labor & materials are dirt cheap then anything is possible. Plus they only have to honor the warranty if they feel like it.

I just bought this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/33380067729...torefresh=true

I did a best offer of $225 and they countered with $251 A sales tactic the asians use to spur interest. Free shipping though (Which means I got it for $225 )
We shall see whats up......my guess is that the Chinamen bought the dies, core boxes and rights from Edelbrock......I mean, how else could they duplicate one?
Lars.....did the Edelbrock carbs have parts from different years stirred into the mix?

Seem as if this company just bought the old weber molds just like edelbrock did for the carter carbs they reproduce... My old eledbrock carb still stated it was a weber carb like this on the side.. Guess we should be ragging on edelbrock for selling the carter knockoffs too. I believe yet a different company sells the dual weber repros that are sold for VWs too. I bet this chinese manufacturer makes the repros for whatever company sells them for $650.

I saved over 30 grand buy buying my brewing equipment direct from the manufacturer that makes it for a popular Oregon based brewing equipment company through alibaba. They literally marked each component up to double or more in price If I went thorough them as a middleman. even after customs and shipping I paid less than half.

many times the companies like edelbrock send the molds overseas to have samples made and those companies sometimes end up cutting ties and selling their own "knock offs" instead of the sanctioned knock offs we would normally pay full price for. It happens a lot in other industries.. especially when the manufacturer have a contract which states they can sell direct to some countries. then you see "grey market" products.

Believe it or not knock off spark plugs are a huge thing right now and they are often dangerously inferior. if you look at NGK iridium plugs on amazon or ebay there are more fake knock offs there than real ones and a lot of guys on the honda forum have had the electrodes explode causing major damage. there even a few you tube videos on how to spot the fakes.

As far as shipping rates from china.. I remember reading the chinese government subsidizes their shipping costs which is likely why they would rather go that route of free shipping.

the chinese carbs will arrive quicker through ebay and will likely be cheaper in some cases..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-...Condition=1000

I dont see them now but a few months back when I was carb shopping I saw a few holley chinese clones really cheap too. they had a iridated gold finish. Theres already so many holley clones floating around including their own its nuts

I will start another thread on it.......photos, opinions, etc........
I am going to bolt it on the 82' Z/28 305 ex-CFI car.....it has a 2101 intake (and a 1902 Eddy Q-Jet on it now), Edelbrock headers, 1.6 roller tip Comp rockers and proper timing curve....stock cam was an L-69 H.O. piece. The engine is 9.5 to 1 from the factory and has 46,000 miles on it.....should be a nice test base....car runs very strong for a 305.
If this Chinesium **** pans out....it could be a game changer for some.......and could help put a damper on the hundreds of square bore to spread bore adapters that I see, that are like a damn epidemic in the South. I get literally pissed off when I see one now.
