Default Bee Jay’s LED headlight upgrade.

Big shout out to Scott, 69_Shark, for telling me about these wonderful lights. They are LED with glass lens and metal backs. No childish halo rings or weird looking bulbs. Just bright as hell replacements for my old *** sealed beams. And they bolt right in. My C3 lighting now rivals my C6 lighting!

New lights on right!

Now that's an LED set I could see myself trying, for the same reasons you said.

Can you take a night time picture showing the beam pattern on a wall?

Thanks for posting this Bee Jay.
I've been waiting for someone to post an LED light that is actually plug and play without any modification or wiring changes.
I just placed an order.

I was not happy with the low beam brightness. It was brighter than the sealed beam halogens, but not as spectacular as the high beams. So I did some investigating. The outside, low beam, lights have four led’s. But only two come on in the low beam mode. All four leds come on when hi-beam is selected. So, I disconnected the high beam wires to the low beam lights, and bridged the low beam and high beam socket prongs. So now all four leds light up when the lights are switched on. My low beam lights are doubled in brightness. Aimed at the same spot down the road, but much brighter.

Do you mean that you are now running high beams when you have selected low beams?

The low beam lights (Outer) are now in high beam mode at all times. The high beam lights (inner) only come on in high beam mode. The high beam lights have four leds also. So, in high beam mode, there are 16 leds on, in low beam mode, 8 leds. I drove the car to SLC6 at 0600 this morning. I am even happier now. What's next?

I have h4 halogens and aircraft landing high beams with relays and upgraded wiring they are awesome but I may try these. I wonder if the relays and wiring would help them more

I plan to keep mine as they came from Octane.
They are still much brighter than the old sealed beam ones and use less amps so I’m plenty happy.
Having too bright of lights on California’s highways is one pet peeve of the CHP.

I'd like that, too. The beam pattern on a wall would be most useful, thank you!

@Bee Jay Can you take some night time pics of this and show the output against a wall so we can see the output? A few of us in here are curious.

Thanks,

I believe he means he now has all four headlights coming on instead of just the two (like if the high beams were on only in low beam mode) I thought about doing this but was advised against it since oncoming traffic might think my high beams were on and flash me. Plus once I saw how well the two led low beams I have work on their own I decided there was no need in my case.

nope, only the low beams light up when I have low beam selected. I just have both led filaments come on inside the low beams. Both leds come on inside the high beam bulb when high is selected. Does that make sense?
