nope, only the low beams light up when I have low beam selected. I just have both led filaments come on inside the low beams. Both leds come on inside the high beam bulb when high is selected. Does that make sense?
Nope.. because thats not at all what you said here,

From that comment it sounds like your driving around with the 2 outermost high beams on all the time, blinding people all the time..
most led bulbs are designed to have low and high beam mode regardless of position on the front of your car. Where the leds are positioned in relation to the inside of the reflector makes the light scatter differently, not the led brightness. Thats why both low and high beam cable led "Filament " bulbs usually have one or more leds located towards the base of the bulb and another group or single led located towards the tip.. This is for the different beam modes.
I could be wrong but unless another explanation comes up I'm going to assume the reflector housing are the same and those boxes are labeled differently because they indicate what kind of halogen bulb they would be intended to legally originally ship with since those types of reflectors are not designed for led bulbs.(Thats a bit of marketing trickery going on it seems) at least thats what I ran into when I researched these types of reflectors for another vehicle I have. they work as they do in my other vehicle but care has to be taken to make sure the bulb is the correct layout, legth and in the right position with the leds reflecting from the position the halogen filament would be in or it ends up performing all wrong. and even then they are technically not legal if someone chooses to hassle you over it. I'd venture to guess you dont have a low beam cutoff right now and the results on a garage door from say 30 ft away would show this but I could be wrong. Again I went through this myself and yes people flashed me for blinding them for two nights before I figured it out and fixed it. In my case I needed to flip my bulbs 180 degrees in the reflectors, not rewire anything.

Makes sense to me. How did you bridge the two?
I just ordered a set

A few years ago, before LED head lights, we had posts of people installing aircraft landing lights in their C3's. Just wanted you to know there are more options!

I've been putting landing lights in my cars since the early 70's. Only high beams but they worked great, and looked cool too
Dont forget about HID lights as an option. although LEDS are better IMO when setup right. heres the cutoff of the cheap ebay led lights im using.. they are legal and DOT approved too it looks like all 4 are lit but this is just the low beams here..

I did, but I havent been able to do a really good adjustment on them yet. Its on my list for this week. They are sure alot better then the old ones.
I can actualy see with them now. I would reccomend them for sure. Easy install, just like changing a regular bulb. I'll try to get some pics tonite.
Thanks
Dan

Its very possible they cant be adjusted. Thats why some want pics. to see the beam pattern which will tell the story of whether they make suitable street low beams

I've done HID for years. I have LED's on my F150 and would rather go that route now.
I was going to do the whole headlight relays thing while I had my engine out but I might just do this instead. A lot less wiring and a lot less current through the headlight switch which should help with the voltage drop.
I also want to add my thanks to all the LED posts...great input
Low Beams Hi Beams Low Beams reflecting off the garage door (driveway is slightly elevated from street) Hi Beams reflecting off the garage door (driveway is slightly elevated from street)) I used the same LED's and am very pleased with the result. Truly plug & play (no cutting cups or wires). The fans are quiet and so far the current draw has put no stress on my 53 year-old 1968 'original wires and circuits' Vette. The road test was great on low beams and I could easily read road signs with great visibility. Hi beams was a dramatic improvement from the lo beams. I no longer dread driving at night as was the case with the original sealed beam units.
Those output shots are not great. No real defined off, no width and lots of scatter. High beams look like a flood light basically which you can see lots of light illuminating the top of the house/garage which is wasted lumens and blinding (you won't have great distance but more flood). I'm not impressed... and I would bet $20 that those reflector lenses would perform better with a good halogen bulb or possibly a low 35w HID kit.

Much better but I know you did heavy mods to get them to fit from your build thread.
These are really nice.
The only thing holding me back from taking the plunge on my '69, is that I don't see a way to retain the fiber optics feature of the headlights.
The standard halogen bulbs I use have a little glass "nib" at the back of the bulb that the F.O. fitting picks up the light from.
If these had a way to make that work, I would jump at it.
(and no, I don't want to rig up little bulbs on the console to replace the F.O. lenses)
I have h4 halogens and aircraft landing high beams with relays and upgraded wiring they are awesome but I may try these. I wonder if the relays and wiring would help them more
The relays and presumably shorter current path (not thru headlight switch) won't hurt anything, but would not be as needed if these LED's draw typical lesser current. You will just have a nice belts and suspenders package. That of course is general pontificating without know what your relays are or how much the headlights draw.
