Rear end issues.

some observations
Axle is coming out because the snap ring is off or the end is worn down past the clip= not good. I can't see if the lip at the seal is still place or ground down. Mid 70's axles were bad and if you let it go until the axle hits the seal you may lose the diff.
Strut rod is bent from someone attempting to align the car most likely with bad axles and excessive end play.
The tire is clearly worn from camber, again from bad axles and rod.
Rear spring has already been replaced- leaf ends are aftermarket and the shipping straps are still on them
To correct this, the right way, you need to remove the diff and check it.
Check the bushings, the one in the arm looks new but the cup isn't flared from the looks of it. The rods can be rebent if you want, I never liked heating and bending them when you can get good used ones for about $30 each and rebush them. You can buy new adjustable rods but you don't need them Based on what I see you should look very close at the whole IRS.

WOW! That looks really bad. diff defiantly needs to come out. I agree, looks like a total rear end rebuild from trailing arm bushings back.

Don’t drive it !! You have a Snap Ring on the loose in your Diff , drive it and you run the risk of that snap ring getting chewed/caught up by your gears and ruining them by chipping the teeth

Sorry, I figured out now that just my pics were posted not the text (was doing with my phone while in the garage yesterday).
This is my new 75 project car and I'm tackling were to work. Indeed the strut rods are bent and there is a big up/down play on the driver's side wheel. In one specific wheel turn position the arm goes in and out of the diff for about 1 inch.
I'll be probably taking the diff out soon.
