I may have some worthless information. Or it may be worth its weight in gold to some of you. Its pretty clever, not my idea.

I have been chasing a lazy cylinder for three days. (Found later it was two cyls) Did all the routine stuff: compression test, checked valvelash, dist cap, ohm test on the plugwires, etc.
All plugs looked decent except two were iffy at best, but not that old. A spark tester off Ebay confirmed something was just not right with cyl # 1 and cyl # 2.
What do they have in common? Both are close together on the cap. But that wasn't it.

Looking at YouTube, I typed in: Finding A Dropped Cylinder.
There was a gentleman (groutaone) on there with a BBC stock car. He said, run the cold engine for 60 seconds, shut it off. He then took a rag, dipped it in a bucket of room temp water and drizzled each header tube.
Sizzle, next, sizzle, next, sizzle, next, nothing. Basically that's what I did but with a water spray bottle.
I'll be dipped. Two header tubes were ice cold. There's your dropped cylinders.

Come to find out, it was two faulty plugs. The first thing to check becomes the last thing checked.

I would be real leery of dripping water on a exhaust manifold but it might work on those too.
Worked like a charm on warm headers.

Old guys like me also used to put a dab of grease on the manifold at each cylinder. Took a little longer to SIZZLE, but same idea. My head is full of useless information too! Thanks.
