when people realize they are reading 2 or 20 year old posts, they just back out. then the mods come in and lock the thread anyway...
I respect your opinion, but this thread is only 7-months old. Regardless, the OP may get more feedback by starting a new thread to his topic only.
Back to the discussion at hand, David Howard just posted some great pictures, that I "stole", to illustrate the areas to examine and what they look like under the glass and trim. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...storation.html
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orvette-6.html roll down to post 107. read. and please start a new thread with your questions. when people realize they are reading 2 or 20 year old posts, they just back out. then the mods come in and lock the thread anyway...
Why, is the conversation on rust prevention for 50 year old cars no longer relevant in 6 months?
I dont see the point in telling people to search the threads when they try to start a new thread when they are looking for an anwser to a question thats been asked 100 times, Only to have someone else scold them when they do just that and ask a related question contributing to an existing thread someone else whos searching in the future will certainly utilize and learn from. When im searching for answers here I look for the longest threads since they typically contain the most knowledge and experience. I dont typically care how much time has passed between comments myself unless it truly is something that has become outdated information.
Just my opinion but if the moderators really cared about all the dead threads getting revived they would have the "related threads" feature disabled on this forum. Since thats the biggest cause by far for old threads being revived, often by mistake.
I don't see how having more relevant information (and pictures!) in one thread isn't better for the 90% of Corvette owners who get information from this Forum but do NOT post.
That said, in general, posters are more likely to get new information, and more views, if they post a new thread on THIS Forum. The CF standard isn't the way it works on many other car forums.
@ScottinMaine, please start a new thread, with photos of your car, and introduce it to us!
EDIT: And the next post shows why to start a new thread. Many folks will answer the OP's question, and miss the new one.

Reason: OP question
not an issue. and not really hijacking. just many guys will be about 3 or 4 posts into reading and realize it is old and back out. so you won't get their input. and really old threads, vettebuyer will swoop in and smack your knuckles with a ruler and lock the thread so nobody can respond at all... and do not buy this car until you have seen the #2 body mounts and as much of windshield frame as possible. and posted pics so we can say... "run, Forrest, run!" or BUY IT!!
