Clutch/Fan

Oil leaking out of clutch/fan? Could this be an issue? Never seen one leak!!

On a hot engine that is turned off.
if you try to spin fan by hand, how far does it spin before stopping?

I`am not sure because i just purchased the 71 coupe 2 months ago from being in storage since 1986 and have been going through all the mechanical s before i started it. It only has 21,476 original miles

I would try to clean the oil trace with brake clean, and see if it returns. If it does, and it's only a trace, i would let it go, but would keep an eye on it, If you want to keep it original, there are people that rebuild them. As long as the car isn't overheating at slow speeds, I would just watch it.

Seal on thermo fan is likely shot after sitting for so many years. If you have engine overheating problems when in slow traffic or when idling, replace the thermo module on the fan.
