That is unfortunate. I was counting on getting a stiffer rear spring at some point. I'll have to find one on eBay.

Each and every car I saw after words looked like it had had High Jacker Shocks installed and all You had to do was install longer bolts to get it back to the original ride height if that's what You wanted..
I think a Vendor like Paragon will have all the parts to redo the Spring You have it can't be that hard to do. Despite the age I doubt the squeaking sounds Your getting are from the Spring anyway. If this car still had the original Tires on it a couple of years ago then why would we suspect that the Pads between the Leafs are shot ? I think Your going to go in there and freshen things up and not need to deal with the Spring at all.
I once went to an NCRS meet and there was a very late production 82 with Aluminum Strut Rods on it like a C4 has. Your car does not have them does it ?
I think you are right about the pads between the springs. They seemed to curled up on the ends.

Yes, my car has the C4 strut rods. I learned the hard way when I order the rear end rebuild kit for an 82 and the strut rods were different.

Thanks all for the advice! I went back to double check my leaf count and noticed a number on the spring. Doing a search for the part number, I think it's the same as the standard 9 leaf 2-1/2 spring from 78-80. Strange how the gymkhana in 81-82 had the standard spring rate as earlier standard suspensions.

I checked my trim height, it's 8.25" all around. So I think my spring is still good. I'll see if I can just replace the liners but I've yet to find any for the 9 leaf 2-1/2.
