Default Leaking power steering control valve.

I have a puddle out under my car this morning after yesterdays "Hot August Nights" 8,000 car event. It was about 96 degrees or more and I put on about 120 miles. highest engine temp was a constant 210.

But anyway. It will be embarrassing parked at the different venues today with a dripping car. I replaced it probably 30 years ago. Are they rebuildable or who is selling good ones these days?

Mine looks like its coming out the far side from the dust cover. I tightened the two bolts, but it didn't work. I will probably just buy the whole unit. I do run a 8X10 tranny cooler on my power steering because I used to burn up the pumps all the time even with a smaller pulley. 7500 rpm and 295 front slicks are heat hard on the pumps

NAPA Auto had both items. complete control valve with List $200 and the rebuild seals kit for $15. Since mine works and just leaks I went for the $15 because just tightening the two bolts slowed it's drip down

That price tells me that is the wrong kit.

Just a few weeks back was a similar post. That kit had just the "O" rings only. The better kit should run around $24 and comes with more goodies.

Then there is the supreme kit for around $45 that has the whole shet & kaboodle, plus pepperoni, sausage, anchovies, mushrooms, etc.

only kit . . .

From that vendor. Keep looking. I think you need / deserve more parts. That kit will work, but while you have it apart you might as well . . . . . .

Check some of the Vette vendors for a better kit. There should be a rubber boot & brass strap to change out also.
