Comparing speakers models is almost like comparing apples and oranges. Speakers rely heavily on the enclosure they are in. We don't have much room for large enclosures in our cars so it's pretty much hit and miss, I think. I know I'm happy with my setup (Infinity 3way in the back and Polk 2way in the dash and a Sony 52X4 CD player to run them. It has enough bass for me. It won't rattle my license plate (thankfully) but it sounds pretty good. (when I'm driving slow anyway)
I recently saw an Infinity demonstration. They have a Kappa Perfect sub in a box wired so that it can be plugged directly into the mains. It will play the 60Hz cycle 115 volt for hours. At 115 volts, a sub is drawing approximately 8-10 amps. That's pretty much at its peak wattage rating.the funny thing about that is we have been doing that for years. if a customer would come in not knowing which sub went bad (if they had more than one) we would hook em up to the wall. the kennwoods would jump off the floor a smoke and thats that. the eclipses wouldnt die. the eclipse subs just sat and did the 60hz as loud as they could and just wouldnt die. im a big fan of eclipse. :smash:

:iagree: that's why I have a 12" Eclipse Aluminum
Just 1? Ive got 2 12's for the vette i havent even played yet. ive got 2 10s in my blazer right now, and with my 1100d powering em, they flex my blazer's roof and doors. im kinda scared of what the 12s are going to do in the vette    well i wanted overkill. :D
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.

That is why I put two Bose 301's in the back they sound unbelievable. I had two half decent 6x9's in the back corners when I got the car and they sounded like an AM radio was playing in my dad's '65 station wagon. If you want good sound you have to have some kind of enlcosure. :D
MotorHead,
I'd love to put some Bose cabs in but I use my car for extended road trips quite a bit. I need the room for a suitcase! I built some cabs that utilize the wasted space above and behind the wheelwells. They don't take up any useable room and they give a little breathing room for the Infinity 6X9 3 ways I have in them.
BTW, what tire setup are you running? Your stance looks great!
(edit) Sorry MotorHead, I just read through your sig and saw your tires. Nice! I think I'll go that route next tire purchase.
