I had my wiper motor working yesterday...today was just checking it again...now I don't have power to wiper door switch on firewall...what supplies power to that switch...this is getting old....wiper motor checked good on bench{high low and park}when it was working all I had was low speed,no high...wiper switch tested good also..ran extra grounds....does the blower relay have something to do with this..maybe the tach solenoid..yellow wire to wiper motor had power..have my dash loose..can't put my driver dash back in till I figure this out..Thanks for input...Malcolm
In my experience with these Vettes chasing wires, the grounds are so often the problem, get a cheap tester that shows power and/or ground, hook one side up to your battery and make sure whatever your are testing has a good ground wire from it. I finally chased my wiper problem down to my gauge center console. the gauge housing was broken as they so often do and the wiper switch ground was supposed to come from the bottom of that console but the small break made the ground intermittent. I jumped the top of the console to the bottom and that solved my wiper problem but those wipers are so damn complicated. Its been a couple of years but I think there is a relay that can be replaced behind the center console.
And watch out for those aftermarket wiper switches. They are crap, I finally had to locate an original as the aftermarket one tested OK intermittently only and just didnt slide properly.
Good Luck, just a few ideas for you
Make sure that you haven't [accidentally] turned the wiper override **** under the driver's dash. It will prevent wiper motion...even though the rest of the electrical system is fine.
