Default Useing original ign wire sheilds

Hello
Any info on being able to use the original metal wire shields with headers?
Can it be done?
I'm using Dougs headers and stock 72 shields
TIA

I use the box that covers the distributor and the sides because I like the look. They don't interfere with my headers at all. I can't imagine the V brackets would interfere either.

If you just want the car to appear as it did when new, go for it. That wire shielding was just a way to drain-off ignition EMF to chassis electrical ground. There is no 'magic' in them; they just go around the spark plug wires and ground out to the block. If the originals are nice enough to put over new wires, go for it.....

Routing wire diameters larger than period OE wires ( ~ 7mm) through the VEE shields may be a tough row to hoe.

I'm putting in 8mm wires but the engine is out. I just dont want the hassle of
burning them on the headers.

I have 8mm wires under "v" shields, distributor shield, and the two down shields all in place, with headers. Same wires, (Accel), installed for 25 years. Nothing burned yet !
