Default Spring under drivers seat 81

Hello friends,

Took out my seats and this spring was hanging off, any idea what it connects to? Thanks.

That is the seat slide/lock latching spring. It should connect to the bar with the chrome ball which releases the seat slide lock. Oops! That appears to be an electric powered seat....which should not have a release latch. Hmmmm...

Maybe a prior owner converted it to electric operation and removed the slide latch (except for the spring lol).

I thought about that, but the car has power windows, mirrors, and even cruise control (computer isn't connected to cruise or anything else though). I don't know why they would have skipped on the power seats.
