Wiper door works 1/2 the time. Some times i need to wiggle the switch arm and it may come on or not. Some times the door will open half way but no wipers. I have ordered a
new switch but wanted to ask if the symptoms might allude to a different problem. The switch arm feels sloppy. I have not tried the washer pump to see if it works. Update washer pump does not work!!!

The wipers will not run until the door is fully open. Its the fully open position which presses on the switch under the hood and this enables the wiper motor.

when you get the new switch make sure you put it in correctly , they can plug in either way. The ridge is supposed to block the switch from going in wrong. Once you get teh new switch it may or may not last too long. Try putting your fingers low on the post so the torque isnt near the end. If it fails right away look for a NOS (new,Old stock) or find a good original. Then start over and see what happens. It could be electrical and it could be the vacuum system. You saying its intermittent makes it difficult. If you go to the Willcox tech pages you will find a bench test you can do with the motor in the car, you just need some jumper wires and test leads.
To get eh door to open you hae to start the car and build up vacuum and then pull the override switch down and it will vent the vacuum and open the door. If you pull the wrong one the headlights will open.
once you get teh door open you can jump the wires from the switch using the bench test to ground the switch wires through the plug. This will tell you if the system is working and the switch is bad

EXCELLENT ADVICE! I shall try it one day to see why I only have wipers in one speed only. I thank you.

There is also a second vacuum only switch that prevents the door from closing until the wipers are fully parked. The passenger side wiper will hit the switch close to its hub, if it is properly installed.
