Carb should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. Would you like me to post the build process on your carb?

Once I receive the carb and start the inspection and teardown/rebuild process, I'll start a new Thread/Topic on the "jmgvreer1 Q-Jet Rebuild Process," complete with detailed photos. Watch for it later this week...

Good call, he rebuilt my 73 Q-Jet. Car has been setting for a few months and yesterday I went out to start it, couple pumps of the gas pedal and engine fired off no issues.

I think it is a laugh that the most misunderstood Carb in history is misunderstood because it has been judged by three generations of people who have no idea how they work.
If you have hot spark and correct ignition timing.....there is no better Air Fuel mixer for a street car short of EFI.
It still surprises me when I do one up for someone and they drive it for the first time......some never knew the engine could run that good. Some are in shock about being able to "get scratch" when they punch it from a stop.
This is still a great hobby!

Back in the early to mid 70's, I purchased two Chevelle's, two Buick Skylarks, three Firebirds and a Camaro.
One of the first things I did was, pull the intakes and carbs then ditch them into the trash can.
Who knew????
