C3 Half Shaft

Quick question. Does the inner flange on the rear half shaft have French locking tabs like the outer flange. There were none when I took it apart. but it seems like its not too safe with only 16 pounds torque. Thanks

They do not. Couldn’t hurt to add them I guess. I just used loctite.

Loctite Blue if you want to take it apart down the road. If you use Red, you’ll have a much tougher time of it.

Everything I work on gets a smear of loctite blue (except wheel lugs etc) unless it calls for red.

16 pound torque just doesn't seem right to me. The outer flange torques to 65 pounds with French lock tabs. Is there something I'm not seeing here?

No, you are seeing it right. Torque them to 15-20 with the Blue Loctite. If you want some additional comfort, paint a witness mark on them and check them down the road.
