Thanks. I did wonder if this would be an option. That said, given that the hoses at the front are old, I'm also wondering if squeezing the hoses at the tank end was a good idea😳.
But, I'll investigate when the new hoses arrive - apparently in the new year now - damned brexit!
Regardless of your method…you will leak a surprisingly amount of gas..be in an area that can allow this not enclosed.
on mine i pinched off the old hose near the steel line and installed from pump back to lines and swapped fast..
check for ponhole leaks in steel lines..if original, guaranteed rusted inside.

That said, thanks to the UK's stupid Brexit vote and the resulting rule changes affecting imports to Europe, I've had enough trouble just getting the two hoses (one being shaped of course) let alone specialist things like nitrile😳
But I'm looking at the hoses at the tank end too, so will look into something more "modern" than plain old rubber!
