Hello, Getting ready to install the trailing arms and strut rods in my 71. Ordered new strut rods (small design), shock mounts and caps for the strut rod end at the alignment bolts. Problem is the new caps do not fit the the cam
bolts. We`re only talking maybe a 1/64 of an inch. They only go the length of the threads. The old caps go on all the way. The new ones fit equally as the old ones on the end of the new rods. Is this fit problem because they are repros?? I will use my old ones if i need to. Second question: These caps seem to
center the adjusting bolt leaving a gap around the shaft of the bolt. Seems there should be a bushing or rubber sleeve to take up the slack? Thank you.
my car is a 71 with all original parts. I just got new cam bolts and the old cap went on easy but not the new one. I lightly sanded the new bolt and the cap went on but tight. I think its just poor
manufacturing!!! I had checked with the corvette supplier and they were going to check with their supplier and the tech dept to see if they had any other passed problems. Thank you
for your input fellas.
