I am putting together the rear suspension on my 82 and something doesn't seem right with my leaf spring bolts. The holes in the trailing arms and leaf spring don't line up so the bolts are pretty crooked. Also, as you can see from the picture the rubber is not compressing so I was unable to get the sway plate into place on the passenger side but driver side just barely fit. What's going on here? Will this settle at all once the vehicle weight is on it?
This is a new spring and new bolt kit from Ecklers.
My VB&P spring is shorter than stock, so I had to use poly bushings to get everything to fit under the (factory) swaybar hardware. I don't recall ever seeing my trailing arm twist like that, though, even at full-droop. Are your strut rods installed and adjusted?

So you are aware your large flat washers are installed upside down. The curved edge goes toward the bushing.
Good catch.. i think when i first replaced my bushings i put them on backwards for quite some time until i went back in for other reasons.. probably reversed them on one of the 6x i had them off 😝
Thanks all for the help. Besides the washer being on in the wrong direction, I also realized I wasn't supposed to torque the spring carrier bolts until the car was on the ground. Once I fixed those and the trick to jack the trailing arms a little bit put the bolts where they should be and the plates for the sway bar went in without a problem.
